Boarding

At Downtown Animal Hospital, we will do our very best to make your pet's stay with us a happy and comfortable experience!  We will become home away from home for your pet while you are away on business, vacation, or in case of an emergency.

Boarding for dogs and cats is available in traditional kennel-style boarding facilities.  Large, outdoor runs are also available for large dogs. Your pet will be given ample exercise time in our fenced yard,  2 to 3  times per day.

Our boarders are fed Hill's Science Diet Sensitive Skin and Stomach food, an egg and rice formula that reduces the chance of GI upset and is safe for food-allergic pets. Of course, you are always welcome to bring your pet's own food and we will happily feed them according to their diet plan.

Even with the best care, boarding can be stressful when your pet is in a new environment and routines are interrupted.  At DAH, we strive to minimize your pet's stress by providing expert care, attention, proper handling and strict cleanliness.

Boarding animals with live fleas will be given a Capstar upon arrival to prevent the spread of fleas to other pets.

Should any problem arise during your pet's stay, such as decreased appetite, loose stool, or vomiting, it will be detected by our experienced staff. Additionally, there is always a doctor nearby to attend to the medical needs of your pet. If treatment is necessary, you will be contacted for authorization before any major treatment.

Minor treatments such as de-wormer for parasites, antibiotics for diarrhea, or anti-emetics for vomiting, may be administered by the doctor without owner authorization. Normal fees will apply for medicine if necessary.
